Lyn Wilson, part of the Wilsons Real Estate family, is a Program Co-ordinator with Court Network and once again the organisation is participating with ‘Respect Victoria’ to promote 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.

The theme is – ‘RESPECT WOMEN: CALL IT OUT’

‘In Australia, on average, 1 woman every 9 days is murdered by a current or former partner.’

‘1 in 4 women have experienced violence by an intimate partner since the age of 15.’

‘1 in 2 women have experienced sexual harassment since the age of 15.’

‘Violence against women and children costs Australia $22 billion each year.’

Domestic Violence Victoria and Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria are partnering with Respect Victoria to deliver this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence grassroots initiative.

The United Nation’s international campaign – 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence – takes place each year from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) until 10 December (International Human Rights Day). Learn more about the origins of 16 Days here.

Since 2019, Respect Victoria has delivered their 16 Days of Activism campaign supported by local councils and community organisations across the state. This year’s theme is Respect Women: Call It Out, encouraging Victorians to call out sexism and harmful gender stereotypes, in order to prevent violence and create a more safe and equal society.

Once again, Wilsons would like to acknowledge the opportunity to partner with Court Network in promoting this event!
